Nintendo and PlayStation are two of the most popular video game console publishers in the world today. Their most popular consoles and games routinely sell tens to hundreds of million copies around the world. Nintendo has been developing and releasing electronics since 1973 and has continued to this day. PlayStation is a video game brand that is owned and produced by Sony Interactive Entertainment. PlayStation was first introduced back in 1994 and remains strong today. Nintendo’s most recent video game console is the Nintendo Switch 2, which debuted in 2025. PlayStation’s most recent video game console is the PlayStation 5 (PS5), which debuted in 2020. Ultimate is a crossover, platform-fighting game released on the original Nintendo Switch on December 7, 2018. Super Mario Odyssey is an action-adventure, platforming game released on the Nintendo Switch on October 27, 2017. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a free roaming, action-adventure game released on the PlayStation 4 on October 26, 2018. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is an action-adventure game released on the PlayStation 4 on May 10, 2016.
